How To Install sisu-postgresql on Ubuntu

Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sisu-postgresql on Ubuntu.
What is sisu-postgresql
sisu-postgresql is:
SiSU is a lightweight markup based document structuring, publishing and search framework for document collections.
This package enables SiSU to populate a PostgreSQL database. This is done at an object/paragraph level, making granular searches of documents possible.
This relational database feature of SiSU is not required but provides interesting possibilities, including that of granular searches of documents for matching units of text, primarily paragraphs that can be displayed or identified by object citation number, from which an index of documents matched and each matched paragraph within them can be displayed.
There are three methods to install sisu-postgresql on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sisu-postgresql Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sisu-postgresql using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sisu-postgresql
Install sisu-postgresql Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sisu-postgresql using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sisu-postgresql
Install sisu-postgresql Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sisu-postgresql using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sisu-postgresql
How To Uninstall sisu-postgresql on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sisu-postgresql package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sisu-postgresql
Uninstall sisu-postgresql And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sisu-postgresql and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sisu-postgresql
Remove sisu-postgresql Configurations and Data
To remove sisu-postgresql configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sisu-postgresql
Remove sisu-postgresql configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sisu-postgresql configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sisu-postgresql
