In this tutorial we learn how to install siridb-server on Ubuntu.
What is siridb-server
siridb-server is:
SiriDB is a scalable, robust and fast time series database. Build from the ground up SiriDB uses a mechanism to operate without a global index and allows server resources to be added on the fly. SiriDB’s query language includes dynamic grouping of time series for easy analysis over large amounts of time series.
There are three methods to install siridb-server on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install siridb-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install siridb-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install siridb-server
Install siridb-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install siridb-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install siridb-server
Install siridb-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install siridb-server using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install siridb-server
How To Uninstall siridb-server on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the siridb-server package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove siridb-server

To uninstall siridb-server and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove siridb-server
Remove siridb-server Configurations and Data
To remove siridb-server configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge siridb-server
