Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sent on Ubuntu.
What is sent
sent is:
sent does not need LaTeX, libreoffice or any other fancy file format, it uses plaintext files to describe the slides and can include images via farbfeld. Every paragraph represents a slide in the presentation.
The presentation is displayed in a simple X11 window. The content of each slide is automatically scaled to fit the window and centered so you also don’t have to worry about alignment. Instead you can really concentrate on the content.
There are three methods to install sent on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sent Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sent using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sent
Install sent Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sent using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sent
Install sent Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sent using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sent
How To Uninstall sent on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the sent package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sent
