Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install sdate on Ubuntu.
What is sdate
sdate is:
sdate wraps the libc localtime() and gmtime() functions to output the eternal september 1993 date.
sdate works like fakeroot (on which its code is based) by setting LD_PRELOAD to a wrapper library.
There are three methods to install sdate on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sdate Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sdate using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sdate
