Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install schleuder on Ubuntu.
What is schleuder
schleuder is:
Schleuder is an encrypting mailing list manager with remailing-capabilities. Subscribers can communicate encrypted (and pseudonymously) among themselves, receive emails from non-subscribers and send emails to non-subscribers via the list.
Version 3 is a complete rewrite, which aims to be more robust, flexible, and internationalized. It also provides an API to be used with schleuder-cli and/or schleuder-web.
There are three methods to install schleuder on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install schleuder Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install schleuder using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install schleuder
Install schleuder Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install schleuder using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install schleuder
Install schleuder Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install schleuder using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install schleuder
How To Uninstall schleuder on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the schleuder package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove schleuder
Uninstall schleuder And Its Dependencies
To uninstall schleuder and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove schleuder
Remove schleuder Configurations and Data
To remove schleuder configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge schleuder
Remove schleuder configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove schleuder configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge schleuder
