In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-unparser on Ubuntu.

What is ruby-unparser

ruby-unparser is:

Unparser allows you to generate equivalent source for parser gem AST nodes.

The following constraints apply:

* No support for macruby extensions
* Only support for the modern AST format
* Only support for Ruby >= 2.5

It serves well for mutant mutators and the in-memory vendoring for self hosting, and other tooling.

There are three methods to install ruby-unparser on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-unparser Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-unparser using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-unparser

Install ruby-unparser Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-unparser using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ruby-unparser

Install ruby-unparser Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-unparser using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-unparser

How To Uninstall ruby-unparser on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the ruby-unparser package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-unparser

Uninstall ruby-unparser And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-unparser and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-unparser

Remove ruby-unparser Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-unparser configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-unparser

Remove ruby-unparser configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ruby-unparser configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-unparser
