In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-hashery on Ubuntu.

What is ruby-hashery

The Hashery is a tight collection of Hash-like classes. Included among its many offerings are the auto-sorting Dictionary class, the efficient LRUHash, the flexible OpenHash and the convenient KeyHash. Nearly every class is a subclass of the CRUDHash which defines a CRUD model on top of Ruby’s standard Hash making it a snap to subclass and augment to fit any specific use case.

There are three methods to install ruby-hashery on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-hashery Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-hashery using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-hashery

Install ruby-hashery Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-hashery using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ruby-hashery

Install ruby-hashery Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-hashery using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-hashery

How To Uninstall ruby-hashery on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the ruby-hashery package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-hashery

Uninstall ruby-hashery And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-hashery and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-hashery

Remove ruby-hashery Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-hashery configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-hashery

Remove ruby-hashery configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ruby-hashery configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-hashery
