Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ronn on Ubuntu.
What is ronn
ronn is:
Ronn builds manuals. It converts simple, human readable textfiles to roff for terminal display, and also to HTML for the web.
The source format includes all of Markdown but has a more rigid structure and syntax extensions for features commonly found in manpages (definition lists, link notation, etc.). The ronn-format(7) manual page defines the format in detail.
This package contains the ronn conversion tool.
There are three methods to install ronn on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ronn Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ronn using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ronn
Install ronn Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ronn using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ronn
Install ronn Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ronn using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ronn
How To Uninstall ronn on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the ronn package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ronn
Uninstall ronn And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ronn and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ronn
Remove ronn Configurations and Data
To remove ronn configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ronn
