Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install rocs on Ubuntu.
What is rocs
rocs is:
Rocs aims to be a Graph Theory IDE for helping professors to show the results of a graph algorithm and also helping students to do the algorithms.
Rocs has a scripting module, done in Qt Script, that interacts with the drawn graph and every change in the graph with the script is reflected on the drawn one.
This package is part of the KDE education module.
There are three methods to install rocs on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rocs Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install rocs using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rocs
Install rocs Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install rocs using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rocs
Install rocs Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install rocs using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rocs
How To Uninstall rocs on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the rocs package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rocs
Uninstall rocs And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rocs and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rocs
Remove rocs Configurations and Data
To remove rocs configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rocs
Remove rocs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rocs configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rocs
