In this tutorial we learn how to install reprozip on Ubuntu.
What is reprozip
reprozip is:
ReproZip is a tool aimed at simplifying the process of creating reproducible experiments from command-line executions, a frequently-used common denominator in computational science.
It tracks operating system calls and creates a package that contains all the binaries, files and dependencies required to run a given command on the author’s computational environment (packing step). A reviewer can then extract the experiment in his environment to reproduce the results (unpacking step).
This package provides the ReproZip packer.
There are three methods to install reprozip on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install reprozip Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install reprozip using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install reprozip

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install reprozip using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install reprozip
Install reprozip Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
