In this tutorial we learn how to install remotetrx on Ubuntu.

What is `remotetrx`

remotetrx is:

The RemoteTrx server facilitates remote control of amateur radio transceivers via the EchoLink® protocol. It is normally used together with the ‘svxlink-server’ package, which allows for nearly world-wide access from the Internet.

EchoLink® allows licensed amateur radio operators to communicate over the Internet, including remote access to station equipment. The RemoteTrx server provides remote control of a connected radio transceiver. EchoLink® is a registered trademark of Synergenics, LLC.

There are three methods to install remotetrx on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install remotetrx Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install remotetrx using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install remotetrx

Install remotetrx Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update
