In this tutorial we learn how to install remind
on Ubuntu.
What is remind
remind is:
Remind allows you to remind yourself of upcoming events and appointments. Each reminder or alarm can consist of a message sent to standard output, or a program to be executed.
It also features: sophisticated date calculation, moon phases, sunrise/sunset, Hebrew calendar, alarms, PostScript output, tcl/tk front-end and proper handling of holidays.
Reminders can be created by the remind scripting language or by using the graphical frontend package “tkremind”.
There are three methods to install remind
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install remind Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install remind
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install remind
