In this tutorial we learn how to install r-cran-lifecycle on Ubuntu.
What is r-cran-lifecycle
r-cran-lifecycle is:
Manage the life cycle of your exported functions with shared conventions, documentation badges, and non-invasive deprecation warnings. The ’lifecycle’ package defines four development stages (experimental, maturing, stable, and questioning) and three deprecation stages (soft-deprecated, deprecated, and defunct). It makes it easy to insert badges corresponding to these stages in your documentation. Usage of deprecated functions are signalled with increasing levels of non-invasive verbosity.
There are three methods to install r-cran-lifecycle on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install r-cran-lifecycle Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-lifecycle using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-lifecycle using apt by running the following command:

Install r-cran-lifecycle Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-lifecycle using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-lifecycle
How To Uninstall r-cran-lifecycle on Ubuntu

To remove r-cran-lifecycle configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-lifecycle

We can use the following command to remove r-cran-lifecycle configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-cran-lifecycle
