How To Install r-bioc-metapod on Ubuntu

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install r-bioc-metapod on Ubuntu.

What is r-bioc-metapod

r-bioc-metapod is:

Implements a variety of methods for combining p-values in differential analyses of genome-scale datasets. Functions can combine p-values across different tests in the same analysis (e.g., genomic windows in ChIP-seq, exons in RNA-seq) or for corresponding tests across separate analyses (e.g., replicated comparisons, effect of different treatment conditions). Support is provided for handling log-transformed input p-values, missing values and weighting where appropriate.

There are three methods to install r-bioc-metapod on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install r-bioc-metapod Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-metapod using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install r-bioc-metapod

Install r-bioc-metapod Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-metapod using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install r-bioc-metapod

Install r-bioc-metapod Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-metapod using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install r-bioc-metapod

How To Uninstall r-bioc-metapod on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the r-bioc-metapod package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove r-bioc-metapod

Uninstall r-bioc-metapod And Its Dependencies

To uninstall r-bioc-metapod and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-bioc-metapod

Remove r-bioc-metapod Configurations and Data

To remove r-bioc-metapod configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge r-bioc-metapod

Remove r-bioc-metapod configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove r-bioc-metapod configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-bioc-metapod
