In this tutorial we learn how to install r-bioc-ggbio on Ubuntu.

What is r-bioc-ggbio

r-bioc-ggbio is:

The ggbio package extends and specializes the grammar of graphics for biological data. The graphics are designed to answer common scientific questions, in particular those often asked of high throughput genomics data. All core Bioconductor data structures are supported, where appropriate. The package supports detailed views of particular genomic regions, as well as genome-wide overviews. Supported overviews include ideograms and grand linear views. High-level plots include sequence fragment length, edge-linked interval to data view, mismatch pileup, and several splicing summaries.

There are three methods to install r-bioc-ggbio on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install r-bioc-ggbio Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-ggbio using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-ggbio using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install r-bioc-ggbio

How To Uninstall r-bioc-ggbio on Ubuntu

sudo apt-get -y purge r-bioc-ggbio

Remove r-bioc-ggbio configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove r-bioc-ggbio configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-bioc-ggbio
