Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install quickcal on Ubuntu.
What is quickcal
quickcal is:
Quickcal accepts quick pasting of a large set of numbers, separated with newlines or spaces or tabs and performs arithmetic / statistical calculations based on the button or keyboard shortcut pressed.
As in other calculators, basic math can be performed too, with the +,-,*,/,%,^ operators, in between numbers. Setting the scale allows for more decimals to be displayed. Also, about 65 statistical calculations can be performed by choosing an option from the more stats list box.
Filing and viewing support for history and tallying purpose, at the end of the day, helpful for shopkeepers and others too.
There are three methods to install quickcal on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install quickcal Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install quickcal using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install quickcal
Install quickcal Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install quickcal using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install quickcal
Install quickcal Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install quickcal using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install quickcal
How To Uninstall quickcal on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the quickcal package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove quickcal
Uninstall quickcal And Its Dependencies
To uninstall quickcal and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove quickcal
Remove quickcal Configurations and Data
To remove quickcal configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge quickcal
Remove quickcal configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
