What is qemu-system-x86-xen
qemu-system-x86-xen is:
QEMU is a fast processor emulator: currently the package supports i386 and x86-64 emulation. By using dynamic translation it achieves reasonable speed while being easy to port on new host CPUs.

In comparison to the main qemu-system-x86 this package has xen support enabled, but is only maintained as universe package. Qemu with xen support is needed to run Xen in HVM mode. For any other use case you should install and use qemu-system-x86 instead.
There are three methods to install qemu-system-x86-xen on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install qemu-system-x86-xen Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install qemu-system-x86-xen using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install qemu-system-x86-xen
Install qemu-system-x86-xen Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install qemu-system-x86-xen using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install qemu-system-x86-xen
Install qemu-system-x86-xen Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install qemu-system-x86-xen using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install qemu-system-x86-xen
How To Uninstall qemu-system-x86-xen on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the qemu-system-x86-xen package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove qemu-system-x86-xen

To uninstall qemu-system-x86-xen and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove qemu-system-x86-xen
