Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pyzor on Ubuntu.
What is pyzor
pyzor is:
Pyzor is a collaborative, networked system to detect and block spam using identifying digests of messages.
Package contains both client and server.
The client can check if an email is a known spam against a pyzor server or report new spam digests to that server.
The server holds the digests database, and handle the client requests.
Pyzor is a reimplementation of Razor in Python.
There are three methods to install pyzor on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pyzor Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pyzor using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pyzor
Install pyzor Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pyzor using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pyzor
Install pyzor Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pyzor using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pyzor
How To Uninstall pyzor on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the pyzor package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pyzor
Uninstall pyzor And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pyzor and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyzor
Remove pyzor Configurations and Data
To remove pyzor configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pyzor
