In this tutorial we learn how to install python3-yade on Ubuntu.

What is `python3-yade`

python3-yade is:

Yet Another Dynamic Engine.

Extensible open-source framework for discrete numerical models, focused on Discrete Element Method. The computation parts are written in c++ using flexible object model, allowing independent implementation of new algorithms and interfaces. Python is used for rapid and concise scene construction, simulation control, postprocessing and debugging.

This package contains python bindings for yade.

There are three methods to install python3-yade on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python3-yade Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python3-yade using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install python3-yade

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
