In this tutorial we learn how to install python3-tenacity
on Ubuntu.
What is python3-tenacity
python3-tenacity is:
Tenacity is a general-purpose retrying library to simplify the task of adding retry behavior to just about anything. It originates from a fork of Retrying.
Features:
- Generic Decorator API
- Specify stop condition (i.e. limit by number of attempts)
- Specify wait condition (i.e. exponential backoff sleeping between attempts)
- Customize retrying on Exceptions

There are three methods to install python3-tenacity
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python3-tenacity Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tenacity
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python3-tenacity
Install python3-tenacity Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tenacity
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python3-tenacity
Install python3-tenacity Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tenacity
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python3-tenacity
How To Uninstall python3-tenacity on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the python3-tenacity
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python3-tenacity

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
