What is python3-tabulate
python3-tabulate is:
Pretty-print tabular data in Python, a library and a command-line utility. The main use cases of the library are:
- printing small tables without hassle: just one function call, formatting is guided by the data itself
- authoring tabular data for lightweight plain-text markup: multiple output formats suitable for further editing or transformation
- readable presentation of mixed textual and numeric data: smart column alignment, configurable number formatting, alignment by a decimal point
This package installs the library for Python 3, and the cli tool.
There are three methods to install python3-tabulate on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python3-tabulate Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tabulate using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python3-tabulate

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tabulate using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-tabulate using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python3-tabulate

To uninstall only the python3-tabulate package we can use the following command:
