on Ubuntu.
What is python3-mock
python3-mock is:
mock provides a core mock.Mock class that is intended to reduce the need to create a host of trivial stubs throughout your test suite. After performing an action, you can make assertions about which methods / attributes were used and arguments they were called with. You can also specify return values and set specific attributes in the normal way.
This package contains the Python 3 version of the library.
There are three methods to install python3-mock
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python3-mock Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-mock
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python3-mock

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-mock
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python3-mock
Install python3-mock Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-mock
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python3-mock
How To Uninstall python3-mock on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the python3-mock
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python3-mock
Uninstall python3-mock And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python3-mock
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-mock
Remove python3-mock Configurations and Data
To remove python3-mock
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python3-mock
Remove python3-mock configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
