What is python3-impacket
python3-impacket is:
Impacket is a collection of Python3 classes focused on providing access to network packets. Impacket allows Python3 developers to craft and decode network packets in simple and consistent manner. It includes support for low-level protocols such as IP, UDP and TCP, as well as higher-level protocols such as NMB and SMB.
Impacket is highly effective when used in conjunction with a packet capture utility or package such as Pcapy. Packets can be constructed from scratch, as well as parsed from raw data. Furthermore, the object oriented API makes it simple to work with deep protocol hierarchies.
There are three methods to install python3-impacket on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python3-impacket Using apt-get

Install python3-impacket Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-impacket using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python3-impacket
How To Uninstall python3-impacket on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the python3-impacket package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python3-impacket
Uninstall python3-impacket And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python3-impacket and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-impacket
Remove python3-impacket Configurations and Data
To remove python3-impacket configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python3-impacket
Remove python3-impacket configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python3-impacket configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python3-impacket
