Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pyscanfcs on Ubuntu.
What is pyscanfcs
pyscanfcs is:
When a membrane is scanned perpendicularly to its surface, the fluorescence signal originating from the membrane itself must be separated from the signal of the surrounding medium for an FCS analysis. PyScanFCS interactively extracts the fluctuating fluorescence signal from such measurements and applies a multiple-tau algorithm. The obtained correlation curves can be evaluated using PyCorrFit.
Package provides the Python module pyscanfcs and its graphical user interface. The graphical user interface is written in wxPython.
There are three methods to install pyscanfcs on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pyscanfcs Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pyscanfcs using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pyscanfcs
Install pyscanfcs Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pyscanfcs using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pyscanfcs
Install pyscanfcs Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pyscanfcs using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pyscanfcs
How To Uninstall pyscanfcs on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the pyscanfcs package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pyscanfcs
Uninstall pyscanfcs And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pyscanfcs and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyscanfcs
Remove pyscanfcs Configurations and Data
To remove pyscanfcs configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pyscanfcs
Remove pyscanfcs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pyscanfcs configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pyscanfcs
