In this tutorial we learn how to install puppet-module-mistral on Ubuntu.

What is puppet-module-mistral

puppet-module-mistral is:

Puppet lets you centrally manage every important aspect of your system using a cross-platform specification language that manages all the separate elements normally aggregated in different files, like users, cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements like packages, services, and files.

This module manages both the installation and configuration of OpenStack Mistral.

There are three methods to install puppet-module-mistral on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install puppet-module-mistral Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install puppet-module-mistral using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install puppet-module-mistral

Install puppet-module-mistral Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install puppet-module-mistral using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install puppet-module-mistral

Install puppet-module-mistral Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install puppet-module-mistral using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install puppet-module-mistral

How To Uninstall puppet-module-mistral on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the puppet-module-mistral package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove puppet-module-mistral

Uninstall puppet-module-mistral And Its Dependencies

To uninstall puppet-module-mistral and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove puppet-module-mistral

Remove puppet-module-mistral Configurations and Data

To remove puppet-module-mistral configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge puppet-module-mistral

Remove puppet-module-mistral configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove puppet-module-mistral configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge puppet-module-mistral
