Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install psignifit on Ubuntu.
What is psignifit
psignifit is:
Psignifit allows fitting of psychometric functions to datasets while maintaining full control over a large number of parameters. Data can either be read from text files or passed through a pipe.
Psignifit performs the calculation of confidence intervals as well as goodness-of-fit tests.
This is the command line version.
Please note: This is the legacy version 2.x of psignifit.
There are three methods to install psignifit on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install psignifit Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install psignifit using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install psignifit
Install psignifit Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install psignifit using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install psignifit
Install psignifit Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install psignifit using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install psignifit
How To Uninstall psignifit on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the psignifit package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove psignifit
Uninstall psignifit And Its Dependencies
To uninstall psignifit and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove psignifit
Remove psignifit Configurations and Data
To remove psignifit configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge psignifit
