Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install probcons on Ubuntu.
What is probcons
probcons is:
Tool for generating multiple alignments of protein sequences. Using a combination of probabilistic modeling and consistency-based alignment techniques, PROBCONS has achieved the highest accuracies of all alignment methods to date. On the BAliBASE benchmark alignment database, alignments produced by PROBCONS show statistically significant improvement over current programs, containing an average of 7% more correctly aligned columns than those of T-Coffee, 11% more correctly aligned columns than those of CLUSTAL W, and 14% more correctly aligned columns than those of DIALIGN.
There are three methods to install probcons on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install probcons Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install probcons using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install probcons

After updating apt database, We can install probcons using apt by running the following command:

How To Uninstall probcons on Ubuntu
