Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install pibootctl on Ubuntu.

What is pibootctl

pibootctl is:

pibootctl is a utility for querying and manipulating the boot-loader configuration of the Raspberry Pi, i.e. config.txt and associated files on the boot partition.

There are three methods to install pibootctl on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pibootctl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pibootctl using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pibootctl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pibootctl using apt by running the following command:

Install pibootctl Using aptitude

sudo apt-get -y purge pibootctl
