In this tutorial we learn how to install php-zeta-console-tools on Ubuntu.
What is php-zeta-console-tools
php-zeta-console-tools is:
A set of classes to do different actions with the console (also called shell). It can render a progress bar, tables and a status bar and contains a class for parsing command line options.
Zeta Components are a high quality, general purpose library of loosely coupled components for development of applications based on PHP 5. Beside typical modules for web application development, like a Template engine, Database tools and an MVC component, Zeta Components contain command line tools, a chart rendering library, a WebDAV server, a universal document conversion component and many more tools to ease developers live.
There are three methods to install php-zeta-console-tools on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install php-zeta-console-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install php-zeta-console-tools using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install php-zeta-console-tools

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install php-zeta-console-tools using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install php-zeta-console-tools
Install php-zeta-console-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install php-zeta-console-tools using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install php-zeta-console-tools
How To Uninstall php-zeta-console-tools on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the php-zeta-console-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove php-zeta-console-tools

To uninstall php-zeta-console-tools and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove php-zeta-console-tools

To remove php-zeta-console-tools configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge php-zeta-console-tools
Remove php-zeta-console-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove php-zeta-console-tools configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge php-zeta-console-tools
