In this tutorial we learn how to install pglistener on Ubuntu.
What is pglistener
pglistener is:
pglistener is a daemon that generates files from Postgres database.
It is a tool that listens for notifies from a Postgres database and then calls out to a number of hooks which do everything from updating the password database to updating accounts in RT.
There are three methods to install pglistener on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pglistener Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pglistener using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pglistener

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pglistener using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pglistener
