How To Install perforate on Ubuntu

Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install perforate on Ubuntu.
What is perforate
perforate is:
GNU cp used to detect files that contain 0-filled holes and save disk space by skipping them with lseek when writing a file and thus not allocating disk blocks. Unfortunately it does no longer. So here is program to make holes in existing files.
Also there are some scripts that help cleaning up the hard disk (finding duplicated and/or unstripped files).
There are three methods to install perforate on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install perforate Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install perforate using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install perforate
Install perforate Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install perforate using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install perforate
Install perforate Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install perforate using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install perforate
How To Uninstall perforate on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the perforate package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove perforate
Uninstall perforate And Its Dependencies
To uninstall perforate and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove perforate
Remove perforate Configurations and Data
To remove perforate configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge perforate
