In this tutorial we learn how to install pd-freeverb on Ubuntu.
What is pd-freeverb
pd-freeverb is:
Freeverb is a simple implementation of the standard Schroeder/Moorer reverb model. It uses 8 comb filters on both the left and right channels. Note that this version of Freeverb doesn’t contain predelay, or any EQ. It is implemented as a Pd object, so it can easily be inserted into a Pd patch.
There are three methods to install pd-freeverb on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pd-freeverb Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-freeverb using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pd-freeverb
Install pd-freeverb Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-freeverb using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pd-freeverb
Install pd-freeverb Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-freeverb using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pd-freeverb
How To Uninstall pd-freeverb on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the pd-freeverb package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pd-freeverb
Uninstall pd-freeverb And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pd-freeverb and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-freeverb
Remove pd-freeverb Configurations and Data
To remove pd-freeverb configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pd-freeverb
Remove pd-freeverb configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pd-freeverb configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pd-freeverb
