Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install pd-creb on Ubuntu.

What is `pd-creb`

pd-creb is:

CREB - compl. red. ext. blk.

CREB is a collection of general purpose externals for Pd by Tom Schouten. It includes among other things:

frequency and time domain dynamic wavetable synthesis (scanned synthesis in the framework of linear and nonlinear state space models)
several virtual analog oscillators and filters
oscillators based on explicit complex and quaternion mathematics
building blocks for the discrete wavelet transform and other spectral transform tools, smallband oscillators and formant synthesis
several chaotic oscillators

There are three methods to install pd-creb on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pd-creb Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-creb using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pd-creb

Install pd-creb Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-creb using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pd-creb

Install pd-creb Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-creb using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pd-creb

How To Uninstall pd-creb on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the pd-creb package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pd-creb

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-creb

Remove pd-creb Configurations and Data

To remove pd-creb configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
