on Ubuntu.
What is omniidl
omniidl is:
omniORB4 is a freely available Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) 2.6 compliant object request broker (ORB) implementation. It is based on the IIOP communications protocol and should be interoperable with any other CORBA 2.6 compliant ORB.
This includes the idl compiler.
There are three methods to install omniidl
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install omniidl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install omniidl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install omniidl

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install omniidl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install omniidl
Install omniidl Using aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install omniidl

To uninstall only the omniidl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove omniidl

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove omniidl
Remove omniidl Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge omniidl
