In this tutorial we learn how to install node-yargs
on Ubuntu.
What is node-yargs
node-yargs is:
Yargs helps you build interactive command line tools by parsing arguments and generating an elegant user interface.
Yargs gives you:
- commands and (grouped) options (like module run -n –force),
- a dynamically generated help menu based on your arguments,
- bash-completion shortcuts for commands and options.
With yargs, ye be havin’ a map that leads straight to yer treasure! Treasure of course, being a simple option hash.
Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
There are three methods to install node-yargs
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-yargs Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-yargs
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-yargs
Install node-yargs Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-yargs
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-yargs
Install node-yargs Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-yargs
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-yargs
How To Uninstall node-yargs on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the node-yargs
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-yargs
Uninstall node-yargs And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-yargs
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-yargs
Remove node-yargs Configurations and Data
To remove node-yargs
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-yargs
Remove node-yargs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-yargs
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-yargs
