Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install node-semver on Ubuntu.
What is node-semver
node-semver is:
Test if version(s) satisfy the supplied range(s), and sort them. Multiple versions or ranges may be supplied. Program exits successfully if any valid version satisfies all supplied ranges, and prints all satisfying versions.
This package provides the semver executable and the Node.js module.
Node.js is an event-based server-side javascript engine.
There are three methods to install node-semver on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-semver Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-semver using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-semver
Install node-semver Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-semver using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-semver
Install node-semver Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-semver using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-semver
How To Uninstall node-semver on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the node-semver package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-semver
Uninstall node-semver And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-semver and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-semver
Remove node-semver Configurations and Data
To remove node-semver configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-semver
