on Ubuntu.
What is node-punycode
node-punycode is:
node-punycode is a punycode converter conforming to RFC 3492 and RFC 5891, and works on nearly all JavaScript platforms.
Punycode is a way to represent Unicode with the limited character subset of ASCII supported by the Domain Name System.
Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
There are three methods to install node-punycode
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-punycode Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-punycode
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-punycode

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-punycode
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-punycode
Install node-punycode Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-punycode
using aptitude
