In this tutorial we learn how to install node-node-rest-client on Ubuntu.
What is node-node-rest-client
node-node-rest-client is:
Allows connecting to any API REST and get results as js Object. The client has the following features:
- Transparent HTTP/HTTPS connection to remote API sites.
- Allows simple HTTP basic authentication.
- Allows most common HTTP operations: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH or any other method through custom connect method
- Allows creation of custom HTTP Methods (PURGE, etc.)
- Direct or through proxy connection to remote API sites.
- Register remote API operations as own client methods, simplifying reuse.
- Dynamic path and query parameters and request headers.
- Improved Error handling mechanism (client or specific request)
- Added support for compressed responses: gzip and deflate
- Added support for follow redirects thanks to great follow-redirects package
- Added support for custom request serializers (json,xml and url-encoded included by default)
- Added support for custom response parsers (json and xml included by default)
Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
There are three methods to install node-node-rest-client on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-node-rest-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-node-rest-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-node-rest-client
Install node-node-rest-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-node-rest-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-node-rest-client
Install node-node-rest-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-node-rest-client using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-node-rest-client
How To Uninstall node-node-rest-client on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the node-node-rest-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-node-rest-client
Uninstall node-node-rest-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-node-rest-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-node-rest-client
Remove node-node-rest-client Configurations and Data
To remove node-node-rest-client configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-node-rest-client
Remove node-node-rest-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-node-rest-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-node-rest-client
