In this tutorial we learn how to install node-emittery on Ubuntu.

What is node-emittery

node-emittery is:

Emitting events asynchronously is important for production code where you want the least amount of synchronous operations. Since JavaScript is single-threaded, no other code can run while doing synchronous operations. For Node.js, that means it will block other requests, defeating the strength of the platform, which is scalability through async. In the browser, a synchronous operation could potentially cause lags and block user interaction.

emittery solves this providing a simple but powerful API.

There are three methods to install node-emittery on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-emittery Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-emittery using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-emittery

Install node-emittery Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-emittery using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-emittery

Install node-emittery Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-emittery using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-emittery

How To Uninstall node-emittery on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the node-emittery package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-emittery

Uninstall node-emittery And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-emittery and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-emittery

Remove node-emittery Configurations and Data

To remove node-emittery configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-emittery

Remove node-emittery configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-emittery configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-emittery
