How To Install node-browserslist on Ubuntu

In this tutorial we learn how to install node-browserslist on Ubuntu.

What is node-browserslist

node-browserslist is:

This module can be used to share browsers list between different front-end tools, like Autoprefixer, Stylelint and babel-env-preset.

Developers set browsers list in queries like ’last 2 version’ to be free from updating browser versions manually. Browserslist will use ‘Can I Use’ data for this queries.

Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

There are three methods to install node-browserslist on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install node-browserslist Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install node-browserslist using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install node-browserslist

Install node-browserslist Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install node-browserslist using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install node-browserslist

Install node-browserslist Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install node-browserslist using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install node-browserslist

How To Uninstall node-browserslist on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the node-browserslist package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove node-browserslist

Uninstall node-browserslist And Its Dependencies

To uninstall node-browserslist and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-browserslist

Remove node-browserslist Configurations and Data

To remove node-browserslist configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge node-browserslist

Remove node-browserslist configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove node-browserslist configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-browserslist
