After updating apt database, We can install nagios4-common using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install nagios4-common

Install nagios4-common Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install nagios4-common using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install nagios4-common

Install nagios4-common Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install nagios4-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install nagios4-common

How To Uninstall nagios4-common on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the nagios4-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove nagios4-common

sudo apt-get -y autoremove nagios4-common

To remove nagios4-common configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge nagios4-common
