The Mobile Robot Programming Toolkit (MRPT) is an extensive, cross-platform, and open source C++ library aimed to help robotics researchers to design and implement algorithms in the fields of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), computer vision, and motion planning (obstacle avoidance).
This package provides a set of console and GUI applications:

There are three methods to install mrpt-apps on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mrpt-apps Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mrpt-apps using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mrpt-apps

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mrpt-apps using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mrpt-apps
Install mrpt-apps Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mrpt-apps using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mrpt-apps
How To Uninstall mrpt-apps on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the mrpt-apps package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mrpt-apps
Uninstall mrpt-apps And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mrpt-apps and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mrpt-apps
Remove mrpt-apps Configurations and Data
To remove mrpt-apps configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mrpt-apps
Remove mrpt-apps configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mrpt-apps configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mrpt-apps
