What is `linphone-desktop`

linphone-desktop is:

Linphone is an audio and video internet phone using the SIP protocol.

The main features of linphone are:

a nice graphical interface;
it includes a large variety of codecs with different quality / bandwidths;
it uses the well-known and standardised SIP protocol.

This package includes the Qt/QML based graphical desktop client.

There are three methods to install linphone-desktop on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
