Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libxtensor-dev
on Ubuntu.
What is libxtensor-dev
libxtensor-dev is:
xtensor is a C++ library meant for numerical analysis with multi-dimensional array expressions.
xtensor provides:
- an extensible expression system enabling lazy broadcasting.
- an API following the idioms of the C++ standard library.
- tools to manipulate array expressions and build upon xtensor.
Containers of xtensor are inspired by NumPy, the Python array programming library. In fact, xtensor can be used to process numpy data structures inplace using Python’s buffer protocol. For more details on the numpy bindings, check out the xtensor-python project.
This package provides the header-only library.
There are three methods to install libxtensor-dev
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxtensor-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libxtensor-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libxtensor-dev
Install libxtensor-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libxtensor-dev
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libxtensor-dev
Install libxtensor-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libxtensor-dev
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libxtensor-dev
How To Uninstall libxtensor-dev on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libxtensor-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libxtensor-dev
Uninstall libxtensor-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libxtensor-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libxtensor-dev
Remove libxtensor-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libxtensor-dev
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libxtensor-dev
Remove libxtensor-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libxtensor-dev
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libxtensor-dev
