In this tutorial we learn how to install libxres-dev
on Ubuntu.
What is libxres-dev
libxres-dev is:
libXRes provides an X Window System client interface to the Resource extension to the X protocol.
The Resource extension allows for X clients to see and monitor the X resource usage of various clients (pixmaps, et al).
This package contains the development headers for the library found in libxres1. Non-developers likely have little use for this package.

There are three methods to install libxres-dev
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxres-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libxres-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libxres-dev
Install libxres-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libxres-dev
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libxres-dev
Install libxres-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libxres-dev
using aptitude

How To Uninstall libxres-dev on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libxres-dev
