In this tutorial we learn how to install libxgboost0 on Ubuntu.

What is libxgboost0

libxgboost0 is:

XGBoost is an optimized distributed gradient boosting library designed to be highly efficient, flexible and portable. It implements machine learning algorithms under the Gradient Boosting framework. XGBoost provides a parallel tree boosting (also known as GBDT, GBM) that solve many data science problems in a fast and accurate way. The same code runs on major distributed environment (Kubernetes, Hadoop, SGE, MPI, Dask) and can solve problems beyond billions of examples.

This package contains the xgboost shared object.

There are three methods to install libxgboost0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libxgboost0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libxgboost0 using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libxgboost0 using apt by running the following command:

Install libxgboost0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libxgboost0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libxgboost0

How To Uninstall libxgboost0 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libxgboost0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libxgboost0

Uninstall libxgboost0 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libxgboost0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libxgboost0

Remove libxgboost0 Configurations and Data

To remove libxgboost0 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libxgboost0

We can use the following command to remove libxgboost0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
