In this tutorial we learn how to install libwutil5 on Ubuntu.

What is libwutil5

libwutil5 is:

WINGs Is Not GNUstep (WINGs) is a small widget set with the NeXTSTEP look and feel. Its API is inspired in OpenSTEP and its implementation borrows some ideas from Tk. It has a reasonable set of widgets, sufficient for building small applications like a CDPlayer or hacking something like rxvt. It is used for basic widgets in the WindowMaker window manager.

This package contains the libWUtils runtime library.

There are three methods to install libwutil5 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libwutil5 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libwutil5 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libwutil5

Install libwutil5 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libwutil5 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libwutil5

Install libwutil5 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libwutil5 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libwutil5

How To Uninstall libwutil5 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libwutil5 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libwutil5

Uninstall libwutil5 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libwutil5 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libwutil5

Remove libwutil5 Configurations and Data

To remove libwutil5 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libwutil5

Remove libwutil5 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libwutil5 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libwutil5
