In this tutorial we learn how to install libwrap0-dev on Ubuntu.

What is libwrap0-dev

libwrap0-dev is:

Wietse Venema’s network logger, also known as TCPD or LOG_TCP.

These programs log the client host name of incoming telnet, ftp, rsh, rlogin, finger etc. requests.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libwrap0-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libwrap0-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libwrap0-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update
