on Ubuntu.
What is libwings3
libwings3 is:
WINGs Is Not GNUstep (WINGs) is a small widget set with the NeXTSTEP look and feel. Its API is inspired in OpenSTEP and its implementation borrows some ideas from Tk. It has a reasonable set of widgets, sufficient for building small applications like a CDPlayer or hacking something like rxvt. It is used for basic widgets in the WindowMaker window manager.
This package contains the libWINGs runtime library.
There are three methods to install libwings3
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libwings3 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libwings3
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libwings3

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libwings3
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libwings3
Install libwings3 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libwings3
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libwings3
How To Uninstall libwings3 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libwings3
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libwings3
Uninstall libwings3 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libwings3
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libwings3
Remove libwings3 Configurations and Data
To remove libwings3
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libwings3
Remove libwings3 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libwings3
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libwings3
