Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libwandio1 on Ubuntu.

What is libwandio1

libwandio1 is:

File I/O library that will read and write both compressed and uncompressed files. All compression-related operations are performed in a separate thread where possible resulting in significant performance gains for tasks where I/O is the limiting factor (most simple trace analysis tasks are I/O-limited).

libwandio is developed by the WAND Network Research Group at Waikato University, New Zealand.

There are three methods to install libwandio1 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libwandio1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libwandio1 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libwandio1

Install libwandio1 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libwandio1 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libwandio1

Install libwandio1 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libwandio1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libwandio1

How To Uninstall libwandio1 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libwandio1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libwandio1

Uninstall libwandio1 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libwandio1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libwandio1

Remove libwandio1 Configurations and Data

To remove libwandio1 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libwandio1

Remove libwandio1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libwandio1 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libwandio1
